Learned Lessons from Adelaide Desalination Project

The Adelaide Desalination Project (ADP) has received the highest international award, having won the PMI Project of the Year 2013 competition. This global PMI Project of the Year Award distinguishes the most successful project globally and recognizes exemplary application of project management principles and processes which have led to the project delivering all its promised objectives and outstanding results associated with the customers and community. In this report, the categorization and description of some lessons learned from Adelaide Desalination Project is discussed, As example: procurement management; risk management; integration management; quality management; time management; cost management; scope management; human resource management, and communications management. Each lesson impact on the project and a recommendation for project managers to consider on future projects is presented.
